Careertrail Privacy Statement

This privacy statement has been created for all users of Careertrail (hereafter called "the service"). By using Careertrail's website you are accepting the terms of this privacy policy.

What we collect

We value every users private information and do not collect any information other than what is required to maintain your account or statistical data relating to the day to day running of the service. Things we collect are:

For Employers:

  • Your Name
  • Company Name
  • E-mail

For Job Seekers:

  • Your Name
  • E-mail
  • Resumes (if you decide to post them and make available for employers to see)

Web Server Statistics

  • IP address
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Monitor resolutions
  • Pages visited
  • Referring pages

You should be aware that website statistics are taken in the normal course of operating any website and contains statistical data only. This data is not correlated to any user and is used to provide important information needed to help us provide this service

What happens to the information that is collected

We believe that your information should be private. We will only share information required to provide the service or as required by law. We will not pass your information on to any third parties to anyone except to the extent it is necessary to provide the services that you have requested.

Your account

To access all services at Careertrail, you are required to have an account which is free.

Employers will need to purchase credits if they wish to upload jobs

Any misuse of an account will cause your account to be suspended, however if you feel an account has been unfairly suspended you do have the right of appeal.

While we do monitor the service we also respect the privacy of individual account holders. If you suspect that details on an account are fraudulent, please contact abuse@careertrail.com.au

Your Information and Resumes

You may choose how you would like to use your information and who you would like to make it available to. We would like to inform all Job Seekers that employers are required to pay a fee and be a real employer or recruitment agency before they can view resumes and any other job seekers information. We will suspend any accounts that go against that rule. You can also make your browsing information more private by changing your Internet Options and by going to Privacy.

Hacking and Misuse at Careertrail

The service is provided for Job seekers and Employers. We will not tolerate the misuse of this service.

If you believe that your account has been compromised or that the information posted by another Careertrail user is fraudulent then please contact abuse@careertrail.com.au

Use and Safety

Your Log in and password are your responsibility. We encourage both employers and job seekers to create strong passwords.

We recommend you do not use the following as your password:

  • Birthday/ date
  • Numbers only e.g. 123 or 458 or even 3255
  • Names/Last Names e.g. John, Bob, Brown
  • Email addresses
  • Brand names e.g. Sony, Panasonic, Nike
  • Your Address or anyone else’s
  • Your I.P. address
  • Passwords you use on different sites

Ideally, a password should contain a mix of numbers and letters. To increase strength use a mix of upper and lower case letters and even symbols.

The service is provided for people 15 and over.

Never provide bank or credit card details to other users of this site.

Policy Modifications

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time and post any changes here, so be sure to check back periodically. However, please be assured that if the Privacy Policy changes in the future, we will not use the personal information you have submitted to us under this privacy agreement.
